Automatic, Solar, Kinetic and Quartz!
Today, Seiko is one of the most innovative watch brands on the market, with a big focus on classical, mechinal watches – a field within which the brand has been one of the leading manufacturers for many years. Though Seiko has been 'the first' within watchmaking on many occasions, such as with the 1969 first battery driven quartz watch in the world (the birth of Astron). Today, the Astron line has been further developed and most Astron watches are now solar driven. Besides producing quartz watches that are (re-)charged by light (meaning that you don't need to replace any batteries), the brand has also managed to combine the precise quartz-clockwork with the functional, automatic clockwork. For these watches the clockwork is powered by a battery, but the battery is charged by kineteic energy from your movements. There's much more to Seiko watches than this, and you'll surely find one, or more, Seiko-watches that you want to own, wear and use.
